Disposable, throw away, return to shelter, not my problem…
Have you noticed how many more abuse stories we’re seeing, reading hearing about these days? From the haunting picture of the dog with his mouth taped shut, to the one with the arrow piercing it’s body. How about the story of the dog curled up on an old mattress dumped with the trash at the curb, patiently waiting for his family to come for him. Nope, he was trash, left there in a pile of garbage, worth less than nothing to the family who left without thought of him pr what would become of him. Just yesterday I watched a video from a rescue group, raising money for a 1 year old dog who had his back feet cut off as a puppy… on purpose. Maybe he jumped the fence too many times or jumped up on someone too many times. That makes sense, right? They were raising money for prosthetics. They were called by a nearby Humane Society to pick him up. They said he was so sweet and didn’t want to see him put down. He was rescued 2 hours later.
How is it that so many humans have decided that animals and children have so little value? And on the other hand, how wonderful to watch the videos now flooding the internet of people far and wide, across our wonderful planet, doing whatever it takes to rescue those in need, protect them and get them into the homes of those who will love them forever.
Dogs and kids, so much the same. At least that’s what I see when I watch this short video. Take a moment to watch, then hold your baby, fur or human , a little bit closer, a little bit tighter and vow to always hold on, no matter what!
And don’t forget… you can ask for help… Always ask for help if you feel like you’re in over your head.
From the Director of this awesome and moving video clip.
Every pet deserves our love and affection. The most touching thing you’ll see all day, it should make us see every animal companion as a new member of the family, not just a simple toy we play with — and then discard the second we get bored with or inconveniences us in the slightest.
This short video shows this idea as it really is, and as it should be seen by everyone. Many pets are abandoned by people every day around the world and we hope with this clip we can raise awareness and give these wonderful animals a stable and loving home.
“We made this short movie in order to draw attention to the abandoned, abused animals on the planet. I truly think that it is important to understand that whatever happens to an animal could also happen to a child. It is also a known fact that someone who abuses animals is likely to abuse human beings as well. This is why we thought that the strong resemblance between child and dog is important in this movie. We cannot turn our heads away from brutality and abuse in the world and it doesn’t matter if it’s something that’s happening next to you, in your neighborhood, or in a far-away land. As a filmmaker and human/animal rights activist, I think it’s important to make movies that could influence others to rethink or even change things for the better in their own lives, or in the way things are happening around them.”
